Good morning and thank you for joining me on the Speed of Money. This is your host Jason Hartman. I guess the markets this week have determined the actual speed of money. Ouch! A 7 percent decline in a single day is pretty fast, while every major stock exchange was down around the world. There are a range of investment options out there. They’ve gone up; they’ve gone down, but 7 percent in a day? I don’t think so. Even in the real estate bubble markets like California and Florida, or other places where prices have pulled back, they’re not down 7 percent in a single day.
You cannot afford to wait any longer. Will the markets rebound? I don’t know. Will the markets go down another 7 percent today or tomorrow? I don’t know. And frankly, I don’t want to know.
The financial anxiety in the U.S. couldn’t be any higher. I wasn’t alive during the Great Depression, so I don’t know how fearful people were at that time, but right now, fear is pretty real. In the past, we’ve all marveled at how the folks at the Fed and the Treasury Department can talk for hours and really never say anything or at least not say anything truthful. Wow, has that changed in the past week or so. There was no sugarcoating in the dire warnings about the state of our economy, inflation, unemployment, and the urgent need for a socialist style bailout. It’s chaos out there and our elected representatives aren’t helping, as they blame each other and point fingers.
Everyone listening has to be fearful and anxious about what is next. Now is the time to make sure your investment portfolio won’t be decimated by the blinding pace of events, or should I say, the bouncing roulette ball we call Wall Street.
I do have good news. There is a safer way. It’s time to get real by investing in the real economy on Main Street. Learn more at www.jasonhartman.com and join me next week on 790 KABC for the Speed of Money.
